NEWCASTLE

Hello Local Gooners!

Well, another Sunday lunch spoilt!  As I've written here before, this blog isn't to discuss the game, there are plenty of places where one can do that ad nauseam, but the atmosphere & craic in the local venue.

A decent turn out after people had heard that I was back in Town & coming down to watch the game.  I am sorry I couldn't get round everyone to give autographs, but I will see you all next time.

Remember, if I'm not there, please, one of you take responsibility for the attendance register.  They're your points at the end of the day.

We're noticing that there are still guys coming to the games who have not yet joined.  Guys, it's ONLY ZAR100 person for the whole season!  We will be running competitions, raffles & giveaways etc. but they will be for paid-up members only!

The new membership cards are well under way - we are re-issuing them as we're looking for a new sponsor &, erm, the old numbers won't work with the new website.  We're going to punch each card with an hole so we can wear Arsenal lanyards, (any suppliers out there who can do us a good deal?).

I think the new venue is shaping up nicely & the atmosphere is really good.  Please, let's try & support the place during the week too.  We're speaking to management about some sort of deal FOR MEMBERS ONLY!!!!!

O.K., the "C" word - Christmas!  We have had a problem for years of getting kit & gifts into S.A.   We have managed it, but it is getting harder & harder & more expensive.  Arsenal U.K. charge us V.A.T. & then we get charged again here!  The total landed cost is, sometimes, THREE times what we pay in England.  Anyway, we now have an importer who we think can help us.  Please go to the main Arsenal U.K. site, www.arsenal.com, & look at the items you like.  Let us know so we can see what we can get. ALL originals.  We're just not big enough to bring in loads of stuff, we need to try & pre-sell as much as possible.

Well, it's a late K.O. on Wednesday, (remember the clocks went back in the U.K. last month which now means we are TWO hours ahead of them).  Come on down.  Ryan is going to be doing his fire-eating party piece &, rumour has it, he's finally passed his How to hold a raffle exams.  Well done Ryan!.

See you at the Brazen Head, Sandton.

Arsenal should not be charging VAT for export orders. Write and tell them so.

Hi!
Sorry, only just seen this!
We HAVE written to A.F.C. & they just brush us off - most annoying as this, coupled with the fact that the customs' guys here are charging us V.A.T. too!
There is just nothing we can do about it & that's why we don't sell many shirts anymore!
We do have a load of new items which came in over Christmas so come on down & see what you'd like - ex-U.K. V.A.T.!!!!!
