Jim'll Fix It

In 1980, the British Heart Foundation wrote a letter to Jimmy Savile of the BBC's Jim'll Fix It programme on behalf of a team of young boys who had undergone heart surgery.

In response to the letter. the team were invited to play at Arsenal Stadium against an Arsenal side. In January 1981, Heart line - the name given to the young boys' team - faced a Gunners side that included Pat Jennings, John Hollins, Kenny Sansom, David O'Leary and Frank Stapleton.

The Arsenal team won the friendly 5-4. prompting the headline 'Hearts 4. Arsenal 5' in the Sunday Mirror. Twelve members of the Heart line team returned to the Stadium 25 years on, as part of the Club's final season celebrations at Highbury.
